What We Do:  AFG Mission

The mission of the Association Foundation Group is to serve association fundraising and association foundation professionals by providing the education, research and information resources necessary to meet the unique needs of this community.

Where We Are Headed:  AFG Vision

AFG is the leading source of education, ideas and advancement for the association fundraising and association foundation community.

To Realize Our Vision, Here’s What We Are Going to Do:  AFG Goals and Objectives

1. Enhance AFG’s volunteer leadership structure to provide strategic guidance for the organization.

  • Create a board of directors that is representative of our two target markets (senior levels and young professionals).
  • Define roles & responsibilities of the board and volunteer opportunities.

 

2. Increase AFG’s membership.

  • Grow AFG’s membership in key geographic areas: metropolitan-DC and Chicago.
  • Expand overall email list in database with particular geographic target markets.
  • Engage with members on non-event related/solicitation activities.
  • Change membership renewal date to anniversary
  • Hold membership campaigns.

3. Provide high-quality educational and networking opportunities that serve the association foundation professional.

  • Host events with focus on networking.
  • Schedule web-based educational program.
  • Host regional programming outside DC.
  • Engage high-profile speakers for in-personal educational programs.
  • Revamp AFG website’s educational components

4. Establish AFG as the forum for association foundation, research, practice & collaboration.

 

  • Create research task force.
  • Collaborate with ASAE or other appropriate organization on research project.
  • Consider creating a unique top 10-like list related to association foundations and fundraising.

5. Increase AFG’s financial resources to ensure long-term viability and fulfillment of its mission.

  • Ensure all educational events have a net.
  • Explore other revenue options.
  • Investigate membership revenue options.
  • Invest in AFG website.
